My Story

Hello everyone, and thank you for joining me on my journey!  I wanted to give you some background information on me and my reasons why I wanted to start this journey and help others become fit and fabulous.

My specs:  I am 5'9" with a large bone structure so I hold weight fairly well.

When I was in high school I weighed approximately 132 pounds sopping wet.  At the ripe age of 20 I had my first son and was young and nieve with no one to help give me advice on the ins and outs of pregnancy.  Long story short, I stopped counting when I hit 218 pounds and still had a few weeks to go.  I was mortified.

I never lost all the weight after being pregnant and worked full time and had struggles throughout the next few years.  Still being overweight and uncomfortable in my own skin I found out I was slotted for the 10 year plan and was expecting baby #2.  My son was born on May 2nd and to my surprise I did not gain as much this time, only about 38 pounds, and I did really well on losing the post baby weight.  WOO HOO I thought, I finally have this under control and within six months I weighed less than I did before I got pregnant...I was at 185 lbs, that's good for me....so I thought.

Almost ten years later and more struggles I left my part time job due to family issues and found myself just sitting around my house snacking, not on the good stuff.  When I realized that my clothes were just too small and that I would need to go out and buy more (size 18) I just about slapped myself into realization.  One, I could not afford new clothes and two, all the women in my family went down this path and did not live past 60 or if they were lucky 70.

NO WAY, NOT ME!  I refuse to be a statistic in my family history.

My right knee was in bad shape from an accident when I was seven where my knee cap was cut off by a skeet shooter, after months of rehab and years of diligence I never had problems with it until I gained all this weight. Then I fell one night and twisted my sacrum and have had back problems ever since.....none of these issues were going to stop me.....I am determined to change history and start a new trend in my family.....I WILL BECOME FIT AND FABULOUS!!

So, sitting at a whopping 220 lbs, I dusted off the Power 90 system that I bought a while back from beachbody and starting using it.  On February 6th I started my first challenge group after getting used to the program for a few weeks.  I am on my way I thought.....nothing will stop me now.

Today, just 70 days in to my challenge group for Power 90 I am 20 pounds lighter and ready to take on the world.  My knee doesn't ache as much and my back only aches on occassion.  My size 16 pants are getting looser and looser and I have lost most of the junk in my trunk, if you know what I mean.  My waist and hips have slimmed down by 2" so far and I am not nearly done.  My face has thinned out and people are really starting to notice.

I would love to have you join me on my journey and work with me to help end the trend to obesity.  This is me 20 pounds lighter...and still going!!
